Bio-Glass Countertops
Bio-glass is a decorative surface material made from 100% recycled glass. This makes it powerfully attractive to consumers who want to use environmentally friendly building materials: One slab of Bio-Glass saves one cubic yard of landfill and reduces 35 pounds of CO2 emissions. The recycled raw material — hollow glass (typically packaging, such as bottles and jars), tableware and factory shards — is combined and sorted into six colors, ranging from dark Fossil Amber to a light White Diamond. The mix of recycled materials gives each panel a unique color pattern and surface texture, much like you see in natural stone. Typically used for flooring, countertops and walls, Bio-glass is equally at home in residential and commercial buildings. The lighter colors allow light to filter through, which makes it possible to create one-of-a-kind lighting effects. The material is available in two finishes – high polish and ‘bush-hammered’ natural finish.
