Marble: the luxury bathroom classic

Bathrooms can benefit from the sheer luxurious feel of marble. It can literally transform a utilitarian space into one of great beauty. Long lasting elegance and high desirability make marble bathroom countertops instantly recognizable. Custom Granite offers beautiful marble countertops and marble tub surrounds for the bathroom.

What this means for youMarble is softer than granite and can etch from acids, so wipe up toiletries and use a stone soap. If you want the look with less care, compare marble-look quartz or quartzite.

Quartz and granite for busy family bathrooms

For a kids’ or main bathroom, quartz is hard to beat: it is non-porous, so toothpaste, make-up and hair products wipe off and it never needs sealing. Granite is extremely durable and highly resistant to staining and chipping once sealed.

Bathroom countertop FAQ

What is the best stone for a bathroom vanity?
Marble is the classic luxury choice; quartz is the lowest-maintenance option and never needs sealing; granite and quartzite are very durable natural stones. Choose based on looks and how much care you want to give it.
Is marble a good choice for a bathroom?
Yes. Marble bathroom countertops are long lasting and instantly recognizable. Use a stone soap, wipe up acidic products, and re-seal periodically.
How are sinks installed?
Sinks are either drop-in or under mount. A cutout needs to be made in the granite to accommodate the sink. The sink hole must be precisely templated and cut out to ensure a perfect fit. Drop in sinks are installed in the rough cut, whereas, under mount must be cut and polished as the depth of the granite is exposed. A minimum of 3” of granite is required between the sink and edge of countertop for structural integrity.
Can you do shower walls and tub surrounds?
Yes. Custom Granite offers marble tub surrounds and stone shower walls. Bring your measurements to the showroom or send them with a quote request.
How do I get a countertop quote?
Use the quote form or call 905-643-6300. Countertop prices are based on the stone type, choice of face profile, sink and cooktop variables and the quantity of linear footage to be profiled.
